What is SIPOC diagram :
SIPOC diagram is a tool which his used to defined the process in easy way so that each person can understand it easily and work in the same direction as prescribed in SOP. It’s an acronym that stands for S(Supplier),I(Input),P(Process),O(Output),C(Customers). This is very simple way to prepare SOP for any process .it need to follow the defined sequence only .It not an new methodology It was originated in 1980s from Total Quality movement .In which the major focus was on to develop an system which his focus towards high quality and as we know to achieve high quality the first step is to defined the process properly. With the passage of time the demand and quality requirement is increased day by day so it’s very important the defined system robust so to achieve that level and expectation of customer. That’s why SIPOC is also used in six sigma, and lean methodology.
What is Business process:
Business process: As the name describe it self the process which are the back bone of business .it means the key process of an organization which are provide the direction to the business of organization. These processes are depend on the size of organization and the scope of organization. For example here are some key business process of and organization are Production, Quality, Maintenance, Store, Purchase, Production planning, marketing etc. Process will vary organization to organization.

Business process and SIPOC: SIPOC diagram is play very important role in the success direction of any business process because with SIPOC we can easily identified the key activity and input required to carried out that particular activity and the source of input that is supplier ,and after execution of activity what is the output from that activity and who will be the customer that will get that output .And how to record that output and what are the check point in particular activity .All this things can be easily identified with the use of SIPOC methodology to design an process.
Component of SIPOC diagram:
As we know it is an acronym which stands for
S-“S” stands for supplier
I-“I” Stands for Input
P-“P” Stands Process/activity
O-“O” Stands for Output
C-“C” Stands for Customer
Let’s now discuss these one by one in brief detail.
S-Supplier :
It is defined as the source which his providing the input for process. Means It is the source which provide the required input in sense of information, material, resource, manpower etc. Supplier may be internal or external it depend on input required to carried out activity. Supplier is play vital role to completion the activity, because it is provider of fuel to ignite the activity .It means if there is no input supplier we cannot start our activity.
Input:
It second letter of SIPOC which means input ,in later stage we discussed about supplier who is supplying the input .Here we are talking about the input means the need or requirement which is required to start any activity .input may be any kind of material ,component ,etc. .it also depend upon the activity which his to be carried out.
P-Process :
it is another letter of word SIPOC which means process/activity which is the part of any business process .These are the key steps of any business process with the help of which any process will be carried pout and to achieve its target or goal. As we know every business process is having some defined goa land to accomplish these goal it is very necessary to defined the proper sequence of the activity of that particular business process.
Output:
As the name stats that output it means when any activity is being carried out there will an output will be generated for which the activity planned .Output may be any product ,information, source etc. it depends upon the activity identified .
C- Customer :
It is the last letter of word SIPOC which means Customer ,means when any activity is producing the output so ther will be someone that will demand for that output or that will consume that output which is called as customer .m
Importance of SIPOC:

- Easy to identify input ,supplier ,output ,customer of any activity.
